Funeral of Brother TEMBO MUGHONGO Faustin-Jérôme
A man, a religious, a Brother in the Assumption has gone to his father. Since Thursday January 22, 2026, Brother TEMBO MUGHONGO Faustin-Jérôme was no longer in this world. His funeral was celebrated on Monday 26 of the same month, four days later. It all started with a body lifting ceremony at the morgue of the Graben university clinics. Father MUSANGANIA KOMBI Jean-Paul presided, surrounded, in the audience, by a few colleagues and members of the family of the deceased including his mother KAHINDO SAHANI. The funeral procession then headed towards the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish church in Kitatumba. Here, Monsignor Bishop SIKULI PALUKU Melchizedek, the ordinary of Butembo-Beni, surrounded by around fifty of his presbyterate, presides over the Eucharist, the requiem Mass of our Brother. He centers his homily on the "I am" that Jesus uses here: "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, even if he dies, will live!" (Jn 11:25) For him, as in God's revelation to Moses in the burning bush (Ex 3:14), Jesus reveals himself as the source of life. In Him we have life forever! The life of man, regardless of his age, does not depend on his assets, his knowledge and his power, nor even on what he has or could have done, but on his belonging to God, his adherence to Jesus! The Mass ended, the funeral procession headed towards Mahamba for the burial ceremony presided over by Father MUSANGANIA KOMBI Jean-Paul, Provincial of Africa of the Assumptionists. It was a pathetic moment full of emotions! There were many religious men and women, friends and acquaintances. We thank them all for their multifaceted support towards us during this moment of mourning! Everything having ended well with a consolation bath at the Mahamba Industrial Technical Institute (ITIMA), everyone returned to their homes. May the soul of Brother TEMBO MUGHONGO Faustin-Jérôme rest in peace!
